Kyoto
What a busy few days we've had in Kyoto. I haven't had a chance to sit and write a post because we've been running around trying to see the sights.
Each day has involved lots of walking, averaging 15-20km per day! No wonder we've slept well at night.
Clint and Angus arrived on Saturday, so we have been able to catch up and spend some time together. Team Ross are back together! It's been wonderful to see them and to have lots of Angus cuddles and to also continue with group activities too.
Over the past few days, we've visited the Nishiki market, the Torii Gates, Nara deer park, Nijo Castle, the Golden Pavillion and wandered around Kyoto itself.

Kyoto is a very busy city, especially on the weekend, with so much to see. With only four days here, we've been trying to cram in as much as possible.
With 38 people on the school tour, we haven't really been able to do much together as a group. Moving around en masse really isn't possible because it's just too busy. As a result, Ella and I, and now with Clint and Angus, have mainly be doing things on our own or in small groups. It's still been a wonderful experience and we've seen so much. Luckily for us, we have another night in Kyoto after the official school tour finishes.
Last night we were lucky enough to have one of the other parents look after the kids so Clint and I could go out for dinner. We found an amazing tempura restaurant, which was just delicious. Such beautiful food and presentation, each piece of fish or vegetable cooked perfectly. A wonderful night out.
Tonight is our last night as part of the group, so we had some final group drinks at the ryokan before a some of us went to a local izakaya for dinner. A wonderful last night together with good food, sake and company!
From tomorrow, Team Ross continue their Japanese adventures for another 10 days!
